For the more advanced anglers – those having fly fished with a guide several times in the past – a guided float trip offers a unique approach to the local rivers. While fishing from a moving boat, you will have the opportunity to see a large section of the river, and you will also be able to fish sections of the river that are otherwise inaccessible. Beautiful scenery, adventurous fishing – a float trip is always a fun way to spend a day on the river.
Typically departing at 9am, most of our float trips last between 5-6 hours depending on winds and river flows. Due to the changing nature of river flows and obstacles in the river, travel time to launch and pull out locations will vary as conditions change throughout the year.
You’ll meet up with your guide and boat at our shop and depart toward a predetermined launch point, specifically selected to make the most of your fishing experience that day. Once on the river, enjoy the sunny Colorado skies and the phenomenal fishing that the Gold Medal water of the Roaring Fork River has to offer. We are proud to offer the most knowledgeable and attentive float guides in the area, who have an intimate understanding of our local rivers and years of experience as oarsmen.
Feel free to bring food and refreshments along with you, or we are happy to plan a catered lunch for you. After fishing some the most productive and difficult to reach water on the Roaring Fork River, your guide will deliver you back to Aspen with plenty of fishing stories for your friends back home.
